About IP Lens
IP Lens is a free tool that shows your public IP address and what the internet can roughly tell about it: an approximate location, your internet provider, the network (ASN) your connection belongs to, and your time zone. You can also look up any other public IPv4 or IPv6 address.
The lookup runs in your browser. When the page loads, your browser asks ipify for your public IP, then asks ipwho.is for location and provider details about it. IP Lens shows what those third-party services return. There's no signup, and the tool never asks for GPS access.
The location is approximate. IP data describes where a network is registered or routed, which is often a nearby city or your provider's hub rather than where you actually are.
IP Lens is made by Syntactics Inc., a web development, digital marketing and IT company based in Cagayan de Oro, Philippines. Questions or feedback are welcome on our contact page.
Frequently asked questions
What is my IP address?
Your public IP address is the address your internet provider assigns to your connection so other servers on the internet can reply to you. Open the IP Lens home page and it shows your public IPv4 address, or your IPv6 address if no IPv4 is detected.
How accurate is IP location?
It is an estimate. IP location comes from how network ranges are registered and routed, so it usually points to a city or region near your provider's network, not your street. VPNs, mobile networks and shared addresses can move the result further away.
Does IP Lens store my IP?
IP Lens has no accounts, database or lookup history. The detection and lookups run in your browser, which contacts ipify and ipwho.is directly; the results are shown on the page and are not sent back to IP Lens. Like any website, our web server receives a normal request when you load the page, and standard server logs can record the visiting IP address.
Where does IP Lens get its data?
Your public IP comes from ipify (api.ipify.org and api6.ipify.org). Location, provider, network (ASN) and time zone come from ipwho.is.
